1. JACK CANFIELD

Jack Canfield is a motivational speaker and co-author of the bestselling 'Chicken Soup for Your Soul' series of motivational books. Along with his co-author Mark Victor Hansen, Jack Canfield was the bestselling author in America in 1997, according to a study by USA Today. Canfield received his masters from the University of Massachusetts. Apart from writing, he has also worked as a teacher and s psychotherapist among other occupations. He is also the founder of 'Self Esteem Seminars' in Santa Barbara and 'The Foundation for Self Esteem' in Culver City. He has appeared in various talk shows like Oprah, Larry King Live and the like.

2. STEPHEN COVEY

Published in 1989, Stephen Covey's 'The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People' was an immediate bestseller and made its author famous. Covey holds a BS in Business Administration from University of Utah in Salt Lake City, an MBA in Business Administration from Harvard University, and a DRE in Mormon Church History and Doctrine from Brigham Young University. 3. DALE CARNEGIE

Perhaps one of the oldest authors to write books on motivation, the late Dale Breckenridge Carnegie was born on the 24th of November, 1888. He was an authority on self improvement books and was honored with a business course being named after him: The Dale Carnegie Course. A poor farmer's child by birth, he managed to study at the State Teacher's College in Warrensburg, despite numerous hardships. 4. RICHARD CARLSON

Richard Carlson was considered one of the experts on motivational speaking and stress management. His book, 'Don't Sweat the Small Stuff… And it's all Small Stuff' was a runaway bestseller. It made history by staying at the top of the bestseller list for two consecutive years, according to USA Today. His books motivated readers by showing them how not to get the small things in life get the better of them. His books made Carlson an eminent personality on television and radio, and he appeared on various talk shows such as Oprah. He also held his own shows for motivational speaking. He passed away recently, on December 13th, 2006.
